You’ll also find printable resources available for download — journal prompts, affirmation cards, devotionals, a little game or two, and my new guided journal: Finding Peace in the Stillness of Winter: A Guided Journal for Discovering Beauty and Joy in the Slower, Colder Days of the Season. These were all created with love for the purpose of fostering reflection, comfort, and connection.

You’re Not Alone.

It’s the time of year when the natural world around us slows down.

There’s a stillness in the air. A quiet hush as the forest settles in for the winter.

Early evenings. Dark evenings. Tired evenings.

Don’t we naturally long for the same rest? I know I do.

For many people, there’s a feeling of heaviness, anxiety that comes with the darkness as it infringes on our bit of grey-sky sunlight.

For others, there’s a sense of nervous anticipation looking ahead at a new year, already feeling overwhelmed with the lists of “to-do’s” and plans to come.

Whatever you may be feeling this January, I hope you know you’re not alone.

Join me on the path — let’s walk together, finding peace and rest in the stillness of the winter season. Check out On the Winding Path’s blog or head over to the printable resources for tangible tools to help you embrace this season.

For my deeper reflection on easing into this New Year, read my post Step Into a Year of Renewal and Joy.

“Life meanders like a path through the woods. We have seasons when we flourish and seasons when the leaves fall from us, revealing our bare bones. Given time, they grow again.”
