Happy New Year, dear friends –
The days leading into the new year have been unexpectedly quiet in our home – and while there are challenges that come with a sick household, there’s been this pocket of time to pause, reflect, and gently reset.
A part of me has felt a bit apprehensive to step forward into a new year.
Can you relate?
Perhaps it’s because I’ve found myself carrying burdens and worries from 2024, heavy on my back, heavy on my heart.
This year wasn’t the path I had anticipated, by any means — it was a year of twists and turns that challenged me in ways I had never experienced before.
I believe there’s a part of me that’s looked towards the new year with nervous anticipation…
What’s around the corner this year?
What unexpected turn will catch me off guard?
And so instead of jumping into setting goals for the year and making resolutions to reinvent myself, I gave myself permission to just “be” — to sit with the year I’d just walked through, pray, and reflect.
I poured my thoughts into my journal and drank tea by twinkle-light.
I went on walks in the forest and talked with God from the depths of my whole being
— finally letting go of these heavy burdens in moments of complete, calming surrender
With a heart postured to be still and listen.
And in these slow, quiet moments — in these pockets of rest and reflection, I found incredible peace and healing.
I found renewal and joy.
The process of reflection is such an integral part of growth and moving forward.
Whatever you may be feeling today, may you be gentle with yourself.
May you find time to slow down and press pause – if even just for a moment.
And whether or not you write down your thoughts, I encourage you to join me in the practice of intentional reflection.
If you’re looking for a place to start —
I’ve written a list of 22 journal prompts for intentional, calming reflection to help you ease into the new year.

It brings me so much joy to share them with you!
There’s no better time than now to press pause and invite renewal and joy into your life!
Wishing you peace and renewal as you step into the new year. ✨
May you find joy in the little moments and may hope light your way in the year to come.
